Internship Program Awarded Funding for 2018

Brattleboro, Vermont, September 5, 2017 —

The Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) & Six College Collaborative Internship Program will once again partner with the Vermont Department of Labor for continuation of the program through the 2018 fiscal year. The BDCC & Six College Collaborative Internship Program works to partner currently enrolled college students and recent college graduates with businesses in the Windham Region through paid internships. Since 2014, the program has recruited over 160 local businesses to participate and has placed 78 interns; 16 of which have led to full time employment. In 2017 alone, 23 interns were placed in paid internships with businesses in the Windham Region.

In 2018, the program will build on the existing strong relationships developed through the BDCC & Six College Collaborative Internship Program and other workforce programming in the Windham Region by expanding the number of available internship listings, on-the-job training opportunities, apprenticeships, and certification and credentialing courses. Strong partnerships with the Vermont Department of Labor, Windham Region businesses, and post-secondary education institutions across the Tri-State region, have been key to the program’s success.
