Position Description:
The Aflac Sales Intern works hand-in-hand with the District Coordinator and other agents on the team to develop and maintain employee benefits programs for local employers. Aflac is the national leader in supplemental insurance, with almost 500,000 employer accounts and 50 million policyholders. Aflac has also made Ethisphere Magazine’s “Most Ethical Companies” list for 14 years in a row, and is the only insurance company to make it on that list every year since the list was created. The Sales Intern will help set and run meetings with local employers, conduct employee education sessions and run enrollments. This includes pre-enrollment marketing communications, and post-enrollment invoice and claims support. The position is flexible, but will mostly take place during business hours, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications Required:
State producer license for Life, Accident & Health insurance. We will fund the course, exam and license fees for the right candidate.
Skills, Attributes and Knowledge Desired:
Enthusiastic, curious, self-motivated, detail-oriented, with strong communication and organizational skills. No experience necessary with insurance or employee benefits – we offer lots of training!
Educational / Professional Development Outcomes
At the end of a successful internship, the right person will have at least one state producer license and will be ready to either continuing to grow their career on Team Brattleboro, or step into another position with an insurance broker or carrier. They will also be exposed to employers in a wide variety of industries in Windham, Windsor, Bennington, Cheshire and Franklin Counties. Last but not least, they should come out of the internship with a strong working knowledge of employee benefits packages, which will help them in negotiating future employer compensation.
