2022 Windham County Business Plan Competition

Now Open for Applications!

 

Brattleboro, VT – Attention Windham County! Do you have a great business idea, but lack the funds to get it off the ground? The Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation is here to help you succeed. Applications are now open to compete in the 2022 Windham Country Business Plan Competition. This competition is funded by the Windham County Economic Development Program to create opportunities for startups and existing businesses in the region to create and refine their business plans, hone their pitch, and be in the running to receive an award that will assist their project. Applications will be accepted until June 24th, or until available seats are filled.

Applicants are expected to present their business idea at of of the following Quick Pitch Events to be held:

  • 06/08/2022 – Flat Iron, Bellows Falls –             4:30pm – 7:30pm
  • 06/09/2022 – Trail 87, Dover –                                                    5:00pm – 8:00 pm
  • 06/16/2022 – River Garden Marketplace, Brattleboro –             5:00pm – 8:00pm
  • 06/23/2022 – New American Grill, Londonderry –             4:00pm – 7:00pm

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to win $20,000 to start their business and gain practical insights about how to grow a business. The Background

WCEDP was created to help relieve the economic impact from economic losses due to the closure of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Plant. Since the program launch, WCEDP funds have helped existing businesses, reinforce economic development infrastructure, and generate new businesses and entrepreneurial opportunities.

A focus of the Southern Vermont Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) has been to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and develop emerging high wage, high growth job sectors in the region.
