BDCC & Strolling of the Heifers – 2018 Road Pitch Competition
It’s that time of year again! Strolling of the Heifers and Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation are now accepting applications from entrepreneurs for the 2018 FreshTracks Road Pitch. The Road Pitch will take place at the River Garden on Wednesday, August 1 at 3:00 P.M.
The Road Pitch, a gang of motorcycling business investors, sponsors, and advisors, is stopping in Brattleboro on the afternoon of August 1 to hear funding pitches from local businesses. Pitches can be focused on investment needs, mentors and advisers, or idea validation. It’s a great way to share a concept to get some traction.
Brattleboro area entrepreneurs interested in pitching to the motorcyclists should apply at www.strollingoftheheifers.com/roadpitch.
At each stop, the riders will award a $500 Riders’ Choice Prize plus a Vermont Teddy Bear “biker bear” to one pitcher in each of the 8 communities. The local winners will have a chance to compete at a statewide final event in October for over $4,000 in cash prizes. Last year, “Sugar Bob” from Sugar Bob’s Vermont Smoked Maple won the local event and went on to compete in the state competition.
This year there will only be five spots this year. Each entrepreneur will have three coaching sessions to prepare for the day! This is a great opportunity to get some feedback, validation, and business planning tips as one continues to develop their business’ value proposition. Businesses will be connected with several local resource providers, as well as, exposure to state-wide investors and potential mentors.
The Brattleboro stop is sponsored by Vermont Community Loan Fund.
