Crowdfunded Small Business Lending Available Through BDCC

Brattleboro, VT. Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) has recently added a new loan program to its lending portfolio. “KIVA” is a crowdfunding platform, with a zero percent interest rate and a maximum $10,000 amount. The platform is provided through partnership with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), KIVA and BDCC. BDCC was recently awarded KIVA trustee designation, the first in the State of Vermont, through its partnership with rural LISC

BDCC will launch the program on January 27th, 2022 with a webinar to discuss details about the KIVA program and how the program can support startups and small businesses. Register for the event at https://brattleborodevelopment.com/public-events.

The webinar will feature Bri Johnson from Flat Iron Co-op partners who will share how they ran a successful local crowdfunding campaign that helped kick-start their business. Ella Szutu of 008ink marketing will provide tips about branding, and how to make your company stand out in order to achieve your funding goals. Beth Haskovec from LISC will also be on the webinar to answer questions and share success stories from KIVA partners around the country.
