Finance, insurance, and real estate (FIRE) represent the foundational services that enable any development. In our region, we’re taking a hard look at how to encourage financing and investment that recognizes the value that projects create for the wider community and environment, not just for the bottom-line.
The FIRE Action Team is the organizing body for this aspect of the Ecovation Hub’s work. Its active projects include:
- The ecoFIRE Program
- Establishing a new CDFI
- “Green” real-estate appraisal
- Cross-border collaboration to expand eligibility for loan programs to members of the green-building community.
