Local Partners Advance Clean Energy Planning with February Workshops

Brattleboro, VT – Are you concerned about your business or organization’s energy costs and reliability? Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) will host two lunchtime workshops on February 3rd and 10th. These events will help property owners, businesses, and small and large organizations manage long term operational costs by exploring ways to plan for future upgrades that reduce energy expenses and improve efficiency.

Industry experts from Green Mountain Power (GMP) and Efficiency Vermont (EVT) will present on a wide range of programs and incentives, and ways to utilize local renewable energy generation. The workshops will highlight ways to increase operational energy efficiency and decrease operating costs. They will also cover how energy projects and upgrades can be financed. The events are targeted to help owners and tenants better understand how to move ideas into planning and implementation. Each session is structured to help attendees leave with a better sense of their next step. No prior expertise is required.  

The first event, geared to large commercial operations, will be on Tuesday, February 3rd at the BDCC Industrial Park,22 Browne Court, Room 103B. It will focus on pathways for accessing rebates and incentives that support a range of larger energy projects and upgrades. Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their own unique project needs with experts. Lunch will be provided.

The second event, designed for small to mid-sized commercial operations, will be held on Tuesday, February 10th at the BDCC offices, 76 Cotton Mill Hill. It will also focus on accessing rebates and incentives that support energy upgrades including lighting, HVAC, commercial refrigeration, commercial kitchen equipment, appliances, insulation and air-sealing. These events are a great way to meet the teams from Green Mountain Power and Efficiency Vermont,. Attendees will learn about both GMP’s focus on increasing reliability, safety, and affordability, as well as the work Efficiency Vermont does to increase energy efficiency across Vermont. The workshops are part of BDCC’s work through the Municipal Investment Fund, a national initiative led by ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability), an international network of local governments, and the Coalition for Green Capital (CGC).
