Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) is requesting bids for the Long Falls Paperboard Holding Basin Lagoon Remediation project, located at 161 Wellington Road, Brattleboro, Vermont. The property consists of a 39.52-acre parcel with an active paperboard manufacturing facility, at the north end of Wellington Road in Brattleboro, Vermont.  The current tenant is Long Falls Paperboard, which began operating the facility in late 2018, and continues to operate the plant today.

BDCC seeks to remediate and close the existing holding basin lagoon at the above referenced facility. Contaminated environmental media are present in the holding basin lagoon including wastewater sludge as well as the underlying clay soil liner. The project entails the excavation, loading, safe transport, and disposal of approximately 500 tons of contaminated sludge and clay soil liner from the holding basin lagoon, followed by re-grading of the Site.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Site on Tuesday April 27, 2021 at 10:00 am.  The due date for contractor bids is Friday, May 14, 2021 at 3:00 pm via electronic delivery.  This work is funded by a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Program.
