BRATTLEBORO — John Rodgers and Molly Gray, candidates for Vermont lieutenant governor, discussed issues including housing, healthcare, affordability and the economy at a luncheon event hosted at the American Legion by the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) and the Brattleboro Regional Chamber of Commerce as part of the Windham Leadership Series.
The event was styled like a debate, with a moderator handing the microphone off to the candidates in alternating turns, but the two responded to audience-submitted questions and allowed their answers to stand alone rather than responding to one another. Rodgers, the Republican nominee, is the incumbent lieutenant governor and a former Democratic member of both the state House of Representatives and state Senate. Gray, the Democratic nominee, previously served as lieutenant governor from 2021 to 2023, after which she became executive director of the Vermont Afghan Alliance until earlier this year.
