Business, nonprofit, and municipal leaders from across Windham County gathered at the SIT International Center on July 7th for a session called Over the Horizon: State Revenue Pressures, Macro Risks & Regional Executive Strategy

This CEO Roundtable event was a part of the Windham Leadership Series which brings together regional decision makers for timely discussions to gain practical insights and explore emerging opportunities. The events help regional leaders engage in meaningful conversations about what is impacting Windham County and Southern Vermont as a whole.

This event focused on Vermont’s evolving fiscal landscape and the implications for organizations and communities. Vermont State Treasurer Mike Piaciak kicked off the event with a look at the state’s financial position. Attorney Andrew Brewer of Downs Rachlin Martin, who represents the state’s Regional Development Corporations in Montpelier, summed up where this legislative session landed and what that means going forward. John Potter, Brattleboro’s Town Manager, provided an overview of the Next Generation Brattleboro work to date, and where it’s headed next.

Following  the presentations, attendees participated in a question and answer session where they could engage directly with the speakers.
