As part of BDCC’s Windham County Economic Development (WCEDP) Business Plan Competition, four terrific Quick Pitch events were hosted by BDCC’s local partners in June: Great Falls Regional Chamber of Commerce, Southern Vermont Deerfield Valley Chamber of Commerce, Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce, and One Londonderry.
Following the four events, twenty six entrepreneurs and businesses submitted applications to the Business Plan Competition. These consisted of both new startups and expansion projects for existing businesses, in sectors ranging from landscaping to custom recreation equipment. Applications are in review, and finalists will be determined by the 15th of July.

BDCC is reviewing all applications and looks forward to selecting the finalist who will compete in the October 14th Pitch Event. There has been such a noticeable commitment made by all applicants, that the BDCC will be inviting all semi finalists to participate as a cohort program. The cohort program will be spread over the course of several months, guided by BDCC Staff, and consist of independent work and group collaboration within a larger curriculum. The intent is to harness the collective entrepreneurial spirit to support you in the development of participants respective business ventures.
If you were inspired by the participation at the Quick Pitch and would like to connect with the Business Assistance Team at BDCC, please send us an email or submit an inquiry.
Special thanks to the Brattleboro Reformer and The Peak Radio who are WCEDP Quick Pitch and Business Plan Competition media sponsors.
Stay tuned for the ramp up of the 2023 Business Succession Plan Competition, where the BDCC will look to match established businesses, whose owners are looking to exit, with aspiring business owners. The combined effort and planning on the part of both of these parties will focus on the creation of a Succession Plan, which will be judged on its viability and economic impact to the region.
