Reblog: Southern Vermont Economy Summit seeks connections, solutions

WEST DOVER — Attendees of the ninth annual Southern Vermont Economy Summit were asked to envision how to create conditions for change.

“Think about how we might actualize, how we might act or grow in our community,” keynote speaker Sarah Waring, executive director of Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC), said Tuesday at the start of the ninth annual summit at the Grand Summit Hotel at Mount Snow. “What types of capital do you need now and what type of capital will you be ready for in the future?”

Through grants, NBRC invests in economic development with a particular focus on distressed counties in its four member states. The commission works in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and New Hampshire, in partnership with state governments.
