Sara McConnell Joins BDCC Business Team

Hello, my name is Sara McConnell. I am looking forward to this exciting new chapter in my life on the East side of the U.S. I grew up in Colorado, moved to Hawaii to help my uncle as his caregiver and found my passion for accounting along the way. I received my BA in Accounting from the University of West Oahu while enjoying surfing and the warm weather. After 7 years on the Island, I moved back to Colorado, met my husband Mike, who then whisked me away to Montana. We have now officially made it to Vermont and are on the hunt for our forever home.

I feel like I have always had a calling to help anyone with anything I could and am happy to be able to utilize this with the BDCC as the new small business advisor and loan assistant. I have experience in accounting for small business, nonprofit and government entities. This has given me a useful tool set to assist with different business needs. Aside from work I spend my time with family, my husband and I have two daughters, a dog and a cat. Other activities I enjoy include disc golf, racquetball, snowboarding and anything outdoors. I am also currently working on my master’s in accounting and becoming a certified public accountant.
