Save the Date: Southern Vermont Economic Development Summit, May 30th

After a successful inaugural Southern Vermont Economic Development Summit with over 130 attendees, the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation and Bennington County Regional Commission invite you to join them for the 2nd Annual Southern Vermont Economic Development Summit (www.sovermontsummit.com) on Wednesday, May 30th at the Grand Summit Resort at Mount Snow, in Dover, Vermont.

The Southern Vermont Economic Development Summit is a daylong event that will focus on the key projects and perspectives affecting economic development throughout the Southern Vermont region. We will also hear from initiatives outside of Vermont that are grappling with the same demographic issues as Southern Vermont– an aging population and a declining population. This year the focus is on Growing Southern Vermont’s People, Potential, and Partnerships and highlights projects with innovative and unique partnerships, and initiatives and ideas that focus on growing our population and increasing Southern Vermont potential such as the successful techniques of tech entrepreneurs and statewide workforce development. We welcome our keynote speaker, Mayor Morse of the City of Holyoke, Massachusetts who will discuss the successes Holyoke has had in growing their population as an innovative community aiding displaced populations into the workforce.

In addition, the 2018 CEDS Vital Projects announcements will take place in the morning and the day will close with the Emerging Leaders of Southern Vermont, co-hosted by the Southern Vermont Young Professionals and Bennington Young Professionals.

Registration will open March 19th, 2018. Be sure to register your email at www.sovermontsummit.com to stay up to date and to receive notification of open registration.
