Two decades in hospitality, beginning as a chef and moving into operations and multi-unit management for large restaurant companies, with responsibility for P&L performance, staffing, and day-to-day operations across multiple geographic locations. Taught history, economics, finance, and engineering across multiple states. Brings to BDCC the perspective of an operator who has carried a payroll and hired in a tight labor market, and who knows what a small business owner is actually asking when they walk in the door.
Holds a B.S. in Hospitality Management from Florida International University. Works with the Design Challenge Network, a nonprofit running student innovation competitions, organizing regional events in partnership with the University of New Hampshire. Founder of Advocate for Educators, a public education accountability project.
Writer, musician, and chef emeritus. Lives in Brattleboro, Vermont, with his wife and their two dogs.
