DIVERSE HOUSING EXPERTS TO GATHER AT BENNINGTON COLLEGE FOR SOUTHERN VERMONT HOUSING SUMMIT

   

Brattleboro, VT – On Friday, February 9, 2018, from 1-4pm, join the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation’s Southern Vermont Economy Project for the Southern Vermont Housing Summit. Due to high level of interest, the location of event has been changed. We will now be hosted by Bennington College at the Center for the Advancement of Public Action. This summit is geared towards town officials and municipal leaders, but all are welcome. Highlighted topics will include housing supply and demand data, a panel discussion on housing products, and housing programs and tools. To register and get more information, visit here. The summit serves as a forum for municipalities to discuss their initiatives and ideas around housing with other towns and gather information around housing’s role in economic development. We will hear from Deputy Commissioner Josh Hanford of the VT Department of Housing and Community Development along with representatives from Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, USDA Rural Development, Windham-Windsor Housing Trust, Shires Housing, M&S Development, TPW Real Estate, Bread Loaf Corporation, Hale Resources LLC, and Bennington County Regional Commission.

The Southern Vermont Housing Summit is part of the Economic Development for Town Leaders series. Past sessions include information and discussion on zoning and connectivity. These topics have been highlighted by Southern Vermont town leaders as ones in which they would like to learn more about and how they play a role in economic and workforce development for their towns. The Southern Vermont Housing Summit’s purpose is to bring town officials and municipal leaders together to learn more about how to promote and support public and private housing initiatives within their town.
