Making Fund Finding Fun: A Grant Writing Workshop attended by over 40 organizations and towns
In partnership with the Vermont Community Foundation and the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation’s Southern Vermont Economy Project hosted a completely sold out “Making Fund Finding Fun! A Grant Writing Workshop” !
This day-long training provided grant writing tips, tools, and advice geared to a broad range of expertise and capacity. We had a total of 45 attendees at the Bellows Falls Moose Lodge that spent the day interacting with the experts and getting advice on their projects. Thirty-two organizations and 8 towns were represented.
These expert grant writers have raised millions of dollars and provided information about favorite “trade secrets” and tips non-professionals can use to successfully raise money.
Attendees also heard from public and private Vermont funders about what they like to see in winning grant applications.
A special thank you to our grant writing experts who gave hours of their time to help our communities and organizations: Sarah Waring of Vermont Community Foundation, Liz Gleason of Vermont Housing and Conservation Board, Jon-Michael Muise of USDA Rural Developoment, Gretchen Havreluk of Ingram & May Small Business Consulting, Bobbi Kilburn of Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, Betsy Bleakie of the Manchester Community Library, Becky Bryant of the Windham Foundation, Jen Stromsten of Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, RT Brown of Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, Andrea Ansevin-Allen of USDA Rural Development, Chris Campany of Windham Regional Commission and Susan Westa of Windham Regional Commission.
