CEDS Vital Project, Wheelpad Set for Prototype Demo Tour
Wheel Pad Norwich Model Tour
Wheel Pad is an ecofriendly 200 square foot accessible bedroom and bathroom attachable to an
existing home. It provides a respectful and supportive space for people with mobility issues, making it
easy for friends or family to provide support while figuring out long term solutions.
In 2016 Wheel Pad L3C won its first Business Plan competition sponsored by Strolling of the Heifers
and Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, followed by a Fresh Tracks Road Pitch and Peak
Pitch competition wins. VSECU, The Vermont State Employees Credit Union, gave a generous grant
to build the prototype. Coupled with the LaunchVT 2016 Innovation prize money and an Indiegogo
Generosity fundraising campaign (https://www.generosity.com/medicalfundraising/wheelpadprototype/x/12800338), the dream is becoming reality.
Construction of our first prototype, with assistance of Norwich University, will be completed 31 August
culminating in a Grand Celebration at Norwich University. Wheel Pad will then tour rehab centers and
hospitals where interested people can tour through Wheel Pad. The final stop will be at the Tiny
House Festival in Brattleboro!
