Press Release: BDCC to Host VMEC’s “Lean 101 – Lean Transformation” Workshop on May 14

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brattleboro, VT — The Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) is pleased to host Lean 101 – Lean Transformation, a one-day interactive workshop presented by the Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC), at our Cotton Mill facility on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The workshop will take place at 76 Cotton Mill Hill in Brattleboro and is open to professionals from all sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, administration, government, and service industries. This hands-on training introduces participants to Lean fundamentals through VMEC’s engaging SEWBIZ simulation.

As VMEC celebrates its 30th anniversary supporting Vermont manufacturers, they are offering this session at a significantly reduced rate. Normally priced at $325 per person, this workshop is now available for only $98 per person throughout 2025 thanks to a special 70 percent anniversary discount.

Lean 101 is designed to spark improvement in organizations of all sizes and types. Participants will step into the shoes of a new employee in a simulated chaotic business environment and work through three rounds of improvement using Lean principles. Key topics include waste reduction, value stream mapping, standard work, visual controls, workplace organization, and more. No prior experience is necessary.

BDCC is pleased to partner with VMEC in bringing this high-impact learning opportunity to the Southern Vermont region. As a regional economic development organization, BDCC is committed to building workforce capacity and supporting local businesses with the tools they need to thrive.

Registration is open now at vmec.org.
