Refugee Youth Field trip to Brattleboro Department of Labor Career Resource Center
On Tuesday, April 23, 2024, Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation coordinated a field trip to the Vermont Department of Labor Career Resource Center in Brattleboro for a cohort of 5 refugee youth. Utilizing the MOOver’s bus service departing SIT campus, the refugees, most of whom are enrolled at Brattleboro Union High School, traveled downtown to the Department of Labor to get a tour of the Career Resource Center and learn job readiness information and skills. The students learned generally about American workplace culture, how to write a resume and cover letter, how to perform the perfect job interview, and more.
The group concluded the day by heading over to the Boys and Girls Club of Brattleboro, where the students got a tour of the facility, including trying out some of the fun offerings, such as basketball and ping pong!
The field trip was made possible by Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation with support from key partners at Vermont Department of Labor and Boys and Girls Club of Brattleboro.
About WFCoE
