New BDCC Programming to Enhance Business Support Across the Windham Region

Brattleboro, VTSouthern Vermont – Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation (BDCC) is excited to announce two new initiatives designed to support and empower local businesses in the Windham Region. Building upon their ongoing commitment to foster a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, these new programs include the expansion of LaunchPad Lab Hours, and an upcoming BizConnect event.

BDCC LaunchPad Lauded, Lab Hours Expanded

At the most recent BizConnect event held on August 28th, attendees celebrated the achievements of the recent BDCC LaunchPad cohort. After an intensive 8-week program, participants shared their innovative business concepts and networked with the community.

Krystal Carroll from KCarroll Studio, a participant in the LaunchPad program, described the experience as, “a welcoming environment with a diverse group of people and a variety of business ideas. I’m new to the business world and the program at BDCC really helped me set a structure to my plan and helped me understand more about myself in the process. I continue to utilize the support system BDCC has to offer.” Carroll has already engaged further with BDCC by attending the August BizConnect event and participating in Lab Hours.

Entrepreneurs can take advantage of BDCC’s ongoing LaunchPad Lab Hours, available every Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, at the BDCC office in Brattleboro. These sessions are designed for in-person support, with plans to add virtual options and highlight local technical assistance providers for further support.

BizConnect September Event Announced

The first BizConnect meetup of the fall is scheduled for September 25th from 5:00-6:30 PM. This month’s event will focus on ensuring that local business owners have the opportunity to review and discuss the proposed 2024-2029 Southern Vermont Zone Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). Attendees will be asked for their feedback on the proposed objectives and strategies. This feedback will inform the next five years of our region’s economic strategy.

CEDS is a federally recognized, regionally led, five-year plan that is designed to build our region’s economic resilience and prosperity. Implementation of the plan is undertaken by multiple public, private, and nonprofit entities across Southern Vermont. Input from business owners is critical to developing and shaping this important strategic plan.

Refreshments are provided at all BizConnect events. Attendance is complimentary, though registration is required. Business owners interested in joining BDCC and SEVEDS at the BizConnect event should sign up at brattleborodevelopment.com/bizconnect.
