Brattleboro, Vermont – Are you a small business owner that needs funds to grow but are a little intimidated by business financing? Or maybe you have an idea for a new business or project but don’t know if any lenders or agencies would support your dream? If you’re curious about financing a business but aren’t sure where to start, start at this inclusive, two-part workshop on the basics of business financing, part of BDCC’s popular BizConnect series.
Don’t worry if you don’t know much about finance. This friendly series for beginners—‘Funding 101’ if you will—is designed to help people acquire a solid understanding of business funding fundamentals. Attendees will discover loan programs designed specifically to support small businesses and traditionally underrepresented people and communities. They will also have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with lenders and agencies who are able and willing to support the hopes and dreams of current and would-be entrepreneurs.
Part one of the series, entitled Accessing Capital, will introduce strategies for securing business loans for commercial property and equipment, as well as the complexities of structuring capital stacks and financing arrangements across different agencies. Additionally, there will be insights on attracting investment at the startup stage, followed by a panel Q&A and networking opportunities to engage with experts. This session will be held on January 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., in person, at the BDCC Offices, 76 Cotton Mill Hill in Brattleboro.
Part two, Alternative Financing, is being offered virtually on January 23 from 3:30-5:00pm. Here, participants will learn about innovative funding mechanisms for your business growth. This session will cover crowdfunding, public-private partnerships, cooperative lending models with special guests from the Vermont Employee Ownership Center (VEOC), and mission-driven lending, providing valuable strategies to access specialized financial tools and social impact funding.
This series is part of BDCC’s commitment to fostering a resilient and diverse business community. Our goal is to ensure you have the tools and connections necessary to achieve your business objectives. Don’t miss out on this chance to advance your business knowledge and opportunities.
