If a company or organization is facing a workforce shortage, an intern may be a great opportunity to recruit high quality talent at a competitive cost. Windham County colleges are attracting highly skilled individuals from across the country, and yet most students are unaware of locally available employment opportunities, forcing them to leave the State, bringing their skills and expertise with them. The BDCC Internship Coordinator works closely with an organizations Human Resources team to create an internship opportunity that benefits both the student and the employer, and interacts with most applicants to ensure the hiring process is as seamless and efficient as possible.
Interns will have the opportunity to gain “hands on”, real-world experience in a business, while businesses will benefit from the skills and insight of a student. In many cases students can earn both a salary and college credit while participating in the internship program. Businesses who are participating in the program are welcoming and enthusiastic about providing an opportunity for college students in their workplace. They will be invested in providing a meaningful and educational experience for the interns they hire.
