Press Release: BDCC & BAHRN Launch New Talent Recruitment Workshop for Employers
Brattleboro, VT – Employers, hiring managers and human resource professionals are invited to a new workshop series, “Expand Your Talent Options.” The four part series, beginning January 30th, is part of BDCC’s Welcoming Workplaces initiative and is offered in partnership with the Brattleboro Area Human Resources Network. The workshops will focus on modern attraction, recruitment, retention, and training strategies to increase the size and quality of the regional workforce and meet employers’ talent needs.
There will be one workshop monthly from January through April; “The Future of Vermont’s Workforce”, “Recruitment and Attraction”, “Activating Talent and Cultivating Careers”, and “Pipelines to Success”. Attendees will network and learn from fellow HR professionals, training providers, and regional workforce development experts. Participants will collaboratively explore national trends, local successes and failures, and tangible opportunities to grow their workforce.
As the labor market grows tighter, BDCC is committed to helping regional employers implement strategies and best practices that leverage our existing workforce. Whether it’s engaging high schoolers in career pipelines, upskilling incumbent workers, or supporting English-language learners on the jobsite, employers have to leverage every tool available to ensure their organizations run smoothly.
Attendance is free for Southern Vermont employers. Workshops will take place from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at the North Barn at the Retreat Farm, 45 Farmhouse Sq. in Brattleboro. Attendees can register at https://brattleborodevelopment.com/workforce/eyto/ or contact Alex Beck abeck@brattleborodevelopment.com.
This program has been jointly developed by BDCC and Adaptiva HR thanks to support from the Southern Vermont Working Communities program of the Boston Federal Reserve, and the BDCC Workforce Center of Excellence (WFCoE) funded by a Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) grant from the Northern Borders Regional Commission and US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA).
About the Workforce Center of Excellence
The Workforce Center of Excellence (WFCoE) is a workforce and career training and education initiative of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation that helps people take the next step in their career pathway. It supports youth and adults, with a special focus on New Americans and women, providing one-to-one assistance, supportive services and career readiness training. The WFCoE leverages BDCC’s relationships with employers and workforce development partners, supporting both sides of the labor exchange to connect people with opportunity, and employers with the talent they need. The WFCoE is funded in part by a Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) grant from the Northern Borders Regional Commission and US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA).
