Local Students Ready for Their Close-Up

The Pipelines and Pathways Program spent the summer gearing up to launch more career readiness content in all Windham County high schools, much of it virtually. Although there are few silver linings to this pandemic, it has challenged all of us to be more nimble and more innovative than ever before.
With P3, that’s led to some terrific innovations. We’ve created virtual lesson plans and other content to help students write resumes and prepare for interviews. We’re currently working to expand our Alternative Pathways curriculum that helps juniors and seniors identify quality careers, complete job and school applications, and ensure that every student graduates with a solid post secondary plan. We know this online content will allow us to reach a more expansive population of students and support teachers and parents as they help them navigate educational pathways to success.
Of course our efforts will be for naught if stake holders don’t understand our program or know how to access our resources. To solve this problem, P3 is developing video content. We’ve spent the summer interviewing educators and students, to help create awareness and generate enthusiasm for P3 and all things career education-related. Interviews will be interspersed with photos from past P3 activities and events at all of our Windham County schools, featuring some of our outstanding students and staff members.
The video will debut on BDCC’s website as well as all schools’ websites and social media platforms this fall. P3 looks forward to a unique and productive 20/21 school year! The Pipelines and Pathways Program (P3) provides employment oriented career-planning for the region’s high school students. It brings training in 21st Century skills, work-based learning, and personal learning plan (PLP) engagement opportunities to all four public high schools in Windham County.
