BDCC Workforce Programs Celebrated and Showcased
March 10, 2025
Last Friday was a busy day for BDCC’s workforce team. Jack, Jen and Aashna attended New England Workforce Network Conference at Cape Cod Community College, presenting the Vermont Employment Pathfinder (VEP) tool and project to 150 peers from community colleges, career centers, job centers and other workforce training providers. At the same time, Alex spent the day in Burlington to deliver a VEP training to students from northern Vermont career centers, helping students enroll in the tool, develop resumes, and begin their journey of career planning through the tool’s ability to match skills to job opportunities, and goals to training and education. That was part of the Vermont HOSA which promotes healthcare careers through high school programs, at UVM.
But the highlight of the day was at the 2025 Vermont Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference at Champlain College. Christy [Betit], who runs BDCC’s high school Pipelines and Pathways Program, received the 2024-2025 Business Person of the Year for work provided to the Windham Regional Career Center local chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America!

BDCC’s Workforce Center of Excellence
The Workforce Center of Excellence (WFCoE) is an employer-driven workforce and career training and education initiative of the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation. The WFCoE leverages BDCC’s relationships with employers and workforce development partners, supporting both sides of the labor exchange to connect people with opportunity, and employers with the talent they need. The WFCoE is funded in part by a Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) grant from the Northern Borders Regional Commission and US Department of Labor’s Employment & Training Administration (ETA).
