Chroma CTO Janette Bombardier Named VT 2019 Engineer of the Year
Janette K Bombardier, PE, was named Vermont’s 2019 Engineer of the Year. Ms. Bombardier is Chief Technology Officer of Chroma Technology located in Rockingham, VT. The award will be presented at the annual Vermont Engineers Week banquet on February 22.
Ms. Bombardier is a UVM graduate and former IBM engineer who rose to leadership and remained with the company after its sale as the Vermont Senior Location Executive for Global Foundries. She was Green Mountain Power’s Senior Vice President for commercial and industrial customer relations and business development, power production, and continuous improvement projects. Ms. Bombardier joined Chroma Technology in 2018.

Chroma Technology Corp is a local optical filter engineer and manufacturer that supplies lenses to industries across the world. In 2017, the company began a 40,000 square foot expansion costing roughly $20 million which is helping to retain the company’s 113 existing jobs as well as adding 26 new jobs to the region. This project was facilitated by the BDCC using federal New Market Tax Credits, working with many local and state partners.
