Course Description:

A 12-week virtual Bootcamp of Project Management for Nonprofits hosted by BDCC’s Southern Vermont Economy Project and part of the Project Development Series. Instruct Kathleen Culver with UVM Continuing Education and Kelly Lozo, certified PMP, will lead attendees through 12 1-hour virtual classes where you will create a project charter, scope, schedule and risk register and gain confidence in leveraging project management practices day-to-day.

In addition to the hour class, there will be an optional 30-minute “Hallway Hangout” to continue informal conversation started in class and to connect further with other class members. There will also be weekly deliverables and assignments.

Instructor:

Kathleen has spent her thirty-year career at Nokia converting cutting edge technologies into real solutions to real problems for real people. Her expertise in technology is balanced with her management skills and is reflected in a breadth of professional certifications (PMP, PgMP, TOGAF, ITIL, CBAP). Project and program management practices, in particular, has been the power behind the success of her efforts to deploy innovations in the areas of Smart Buildings, Cloud Solutions, and Collaboration Tools throughout Nokia. Kathleen has used the same practices to deliver successful projects at the non-profits of which she has been a member over the years.

Kelly has spent the last five years driving programming and fundraising results for nonprofits across the US. A certified Project Management Professional, Kelly has successfully introduced and applied industry best practices to small nonprofit teams to increase their productivity and efficacy. She is experienced in multiple aspects of nonprofit management and development supporting cultural, advocacy, and philanthropic missions through project management, event planning, relationship building, grant writing, and administrative organization.
