Start your Saturday by taking a stroll in the J. Maynard Miller Municipal Forest amongst Vermont’s only black gum trees (Nyssa sylvatica). These ancient trees (some more than 400 years old) are relatively common further south but are extremely rare in VT.

We’re meeting at the trailhead/parking lot at 366 Basin Rd at 9:30am for a mellow stroll. Be sure to bring your favorite bug spray–the mosquitos may be joining us in the wetlands. Pets are welcome but must be leashed!
