SoVermont.com Helps Potential New Vermonters Plan Their Move

There is no shortage of people in other states who are dreaming about their perfect Vermont life. But some aspects of living here just don’t come across in the typical Vermont marketing content … like how you’ll probably end up on 3 different local committees and that road conditions are a routine and expected topic of casual conversation. How you’ll be able to find a good job here, but it’s not a career-focused place because we take work-life balance seriously. How many of our institutions are still analog, in a good way.

BDCC developed SoVermont.com in 2021 in conjunction with the Bennington County Regional Commission and other regional partners to help folks considering moving to the region really get a grasp on what life is like here: how town government works, what a “small town” really means here, the best ways to get connected to your new community, how to find a good job.

As we continue to expand our newcomer relocation and retention programs and add content to SoVermont.com, we hope you’ll share it with prospective employees, friends, and family who are considering making their own Vermont move.
