BDCC Internships

Windham Summer Internships

BDCC is hosting a unique, paid internship program this summer. Funded by the Vermont
Department of Labor, this program will provide both hands-on career training and wages for
individuals to complete month-long internships with participating employers.

For Job Seekers:

Are you ready to level up your career? Looking to enter or re-enter the workforce? We’ll give you the tools to succeed, including resume tips, interview prep, and connections to training providers and employers. From there we’ll work to place you in a paid ($14/hour) internship to get hands-on experience, learning and mentoring. We also have paid ($11.75/hour) job shadows if you’re curious and just want to dip your toes for a couple weeks.

Internships and job shadows available in the following areas:

  • Arts Education
  • Customer Service and Event Management
  • IT
  • Graphic Design, Social Media and Digital Marketing
  • Sound & Lighting for Stage
  • Human Resources
  • Nonprofit Funding Development
  • Safety Engineering
  • Industrial/Process Engineering
  • Accounting/Finance
  • More positions to be announced…

The next training will be held August 2nd – August 5th, 9:00am – 12:00pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Brattleboro.

For Employers:

Can you help someone take the next step in their career and learning journey? Do you want to be connected with job-seekers? Work with BDCC to create a summer internship position.

In order to facilitate a seamless experience for employers, BDCC will administer wages, paying
interns directly. Employers will work with BDCC to identify appropriate opportunities and provide
supervision for work experiences in any of the following categories:

● Job Shadow – 10 hours per week (for 2 weeks)
● Part-time Internship – 20 hours per week (for 4 weeks)
● Full-time Internship – 40 hours per week (for 4 weeks)

Employers with multiple positions may be eligible for one or more additional paid placements
through the program. BDCC will help facilitate placements, and employers will also have the
opportunity to recruit during organized hiring events to be held at the conclusion of each career
training course.

Interested employers should contact Casey Haynes at chaynes@brattleborodevelopment.com.
Please be prepared to provide an outline of available opportunities, including number of
positions and potential start dates.
