Local partners and community members welcome guests at 3rd Stay to Stay Weekend

During the second weekend in August, the Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, the Brattleboro Area Chamber and the Downtown Alliance welcomed 16 guests for the third Stay to Stay weekend, a pilot program created by the Vermont Agency of Commerce and Community development to attract visitors who are interested in moving to Vermont and building a career or business here.

During the weekend, the local partners hosted a welcome reception, which was held on Friday at the DUO Lounge with drinks, appetizers, and community members who came out welcome the visitors. The Stay to Stay guests came from all over the country including Utah, Iowa, and Montreal, to name a few, and all were considering a move to the Brattleboro area.

The guests spent Saturday and Sunday exploring the area, visiting local attractions, and getting a feel for what it would be like to live in Southern Vermont. On Monday, guests met with realtors, toured the BDCC incubator space at the Cotton Mill, or met with employers. The BDCC’s business partners were Brattleboro Area Realty, Meg Streeter Realty, Brattleboro Development Credit Corporation, the Brattleboro Retreat, Mondo Mediaworks, and Commonwealth Dairy, all of who helped to welcome and host the weekend visitors.

Our fourth Stay to Stay weekend is coming up, and its looking to be a busy one, with over 15 guests and 10 local partners involved in the warm welcome! If you’d like to be a part of that welcome, please attend the Stay to Stay Welcome Reception on Friday, October 19th at 5 pm.
