Topic: Leveraging Employee Ownership as a Business Recovery Strategy

In this free webinar, you will learn about an approach to rebuilding a business by bringing employees in as co-owners. By giving everyone a stake in the outcome, both the fruits and the burden of carrying the business can be shared, in and beyond the recovery period. We will focus on introducing employee ownership through a cooperative structure, cover the steps in converting an established business into a co-op, and discuss the financing tools that are available. By transitioning an established company to this model, the present owner can receive a fair sale price, can continue working in the company if they wish, and can share in future earnings. The session will be led by Matt Cropp, Co-Executive Director of the Vermont Employee Ownership Center, and will feature the story of a Vermont-based worker cooperative, told by an owner.

Presenters: Matt Cropp, Co-Directors of the Vermont Employee Ownership Center
