Kate Harris joined BDCC in the fall of 2020 to help administer Community Development Block Grant CARES Act grants to small Vermont businesses adversely affected by the pandemic. She transitioned into the role of Leasing Administrator in September 2021. Kate has a wide array of job experience: most recently, she worked for a climate tech startup in Boston that developed a camera to detect methane leaks. Prior to that, she was responsible for graduate and undergraduate program assessment at the School of International Training.
Before moving back to Vermont in 2012, Kate lived in both Dallas and Houston, Texas, where she raised two daughters and worked in the wind energy, petroleum exploration, and residential construction industries.
Kate holds a BA in geology from Middlebury College and an MBA from Houston Baptist University. When she’s not working, you can find her outside- hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, kayaking, bicycling, or gardening.
