Rachel has long loved building community wherever she can, from organizing pop-up coworking days for remote workers in Woodstock, Vermont, to network-weaving in the arts and culture scene in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and gathering friends and neighbors for dinner series and outdoor movie nights. An ardent believer in the importance of sense of place, she is eager to get to know the amazing towns and villages in Southern Vermont and help them move community projects forward.

Rachel grew up in South Carolina but discovered her love of small mountain towns when the Great Recession somehow landed her in Western Colorado. Knowing from afar that she would love Vermont, she happily found her way into a storybook life as a book editor who lived above an ice cream shop in the heart of Woodstock. Her spouse’s educational and career paths took them to Portland, Oregon, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but they are delighted to be back in Vermont, along with their small child, one neurotypical cat, and two “wobbly” ones.
