Restart Vermont Impact

In 2019 BDCC hosted our first AmeriCorps Vista service member through SerVermont. Gabriel Sistare had just completed five years of service with the Army. In the first month he created a staff in the field video, helped organize the first RDCs Workforce Summit held at SIT, and then finally had a chance to get down to his main project – developing local Hiring Needs Assessments t0 gather real-time data on occupational opportunities.

Gabriel provided critical support to set up new systems when the pandemic struck so BDCC staff could focus on supporting local organizations and businesses seeking economic relief in a confusing time. Gabriel continues with BDCC as our Community Facilities Coordinator and Business Specialist, ensuring local projects and local businesses find the help they need!
